We love this classic - the KERDIL baby shirt with an American neckline. It is extremely practical for the little ones and looks great thanks to the overlapping shoulders. You can choose to work the neckline with elastic edging or cuffs. We show you both versions in the e-book. Great effects can be achieved with color-contrasting edging and cuffs. The hems are simply folded over and stitched. If you like it a bit sportier, you can of course also add a cuff. KERDIL is also available in long sleeves for the cooler season and as a short sleeve version for the sunny months. You can definitely use this cut all year round. Your child will love KERDIL!

Oh, how well this name fits, doesn't it? KERDIL is Indonesian and means dwarf. Simply perfect for this cute dwarf outfit, we think.

Sewing an American neckline, even as a somewhat experienced beginner

Admittedly, this neckline looks really easy and uncomplicated! And yet, depending on the material, it can be a bit tricky to avoid waves here. But don't worry: We'll show you how it's done and after the third shirt at the latest, you'll be a real pro at this :-) Because otherwise the shirt is child's play!

The e-book takes you step by step with lots of pictures, making cutting and sewing child's play. The e-book also contains a small basic section in which common terms and sewing vocabulary are briefly explained. Printing and gluing the pattern together is also explained in detail!

Fabric recommendation:

Stretchy fabrics such as jersey, knit fabrics and summer sweats are suitable for the KERDIL baby shirt. Elastic Nicki or jersey with a corduroy look also work well. With sweatshirt fabrics, make sure that they are cross-elastic. Otherwise the sleeves could be too tight. Thin jerseys are of course recommended especially for the summer months.

Fabric consumption:

For the KERDIL shirt you need the following amounts of fabric (based on 150 cm fabric width plus seam allowances and buffer):

size 80 - 98 0.50 cm

You can choose to work the neckline with elastic edging, folded elastic or ribbed fabric. In total, you will need a strip that is about 75 cm long.
