You see them everywhere at the moment: trendy shirt jackets! The trendy item called "shaket" is super casual and versatile, a mix of shirt and jacket. With the LUWES pattern you can sew such a cool shaket, very comfortable with slightly dropped shoulders, button placket and pockets with flaps in the chest area, as well as pockets. LUWES is loose and casual, but not too oversized. This means the shirt jacket can also be styled "chic"! If you want a real oversized look, you can also simply sew LUWES one size larger. LUWES is for women and men! This great piece can be sewn to suit any season, depending on the fabric you choose. Non-stretchy fabrics are suitable, such as corduroy, jeans, canvas, not too thick coat fabrics and even imitation leather! But also flannel or tartan. If you don't want it so warm, you can also use shirt fabrics!

You're absolutely on trend with a shirt jacket like LUWES. LUWES has slightly overcut shoulders for a slightly oversized look without being too big. LUWES is really interesting thanks to its many details. The sleeves have a slit and cuffs with buttons. The name LUWES

"LUWES" is Indonesian and means "flexible". The cut got this name because the shaket is really very flexible to combine. You can also add LUWES to your wardrobe in summer, spring, autumn and winter - it's really flexible.

Fabric recommendation:

LUWES is sewn from non-stretch fabrics, such as corduroy, jeans, canvas, not too thick coat fabrics, flannel, tartan, and even imitation leather! If you don't want it to be so warm, you can also use shirt fabrics.

For the LUWES jacket you need the following amount of fabric (based on 140 cm fabric width including seam allowances and buffer):

• Size XS - 2.00 m
• Size S - 2.10 m
• Size M - 2.20 m
• Size L - 2.30 m
• Size XL - 2.40 m
• Size XXL - 2.50 m

You also need:

• 10 - 11 buttons
• For thin shirt fabrics, you may need to use some iron-on interfacing to stabilize the cuffs, pocket flaps, collar and button placket.
• Color-matching sewing thread
