Shopper TOKO

Sustainability starts with shopping. Plastic bags are now banned, so it's up to us to make a statement against too much plastic waste with our self-sewn shoppers.

The TOKO shopper is ideal for this, because as a reversible bag it makes a double statement - sometimes with one side, sometimes with the other. It can also be easily sewn from fabric scraps, Snappap, leather, oilcloth, etc. This makes the reversible bag completely sustainable in many ways.

In terms of size, TOKO is comparable to a shopper that not only fits a bag of bread rolls, but also a few small things for breakfast or a picnic. This eBook comes in two different sizes. There is the large shopper and the mini version. See which one is best for you.

For the TOKO shopper, you need a sturdy material that doesn't stretch. This includes, for example, cotton woven fabric, canvas, corduroy, bag fabric, sturdy quilted fabric, foil or poplin. You can also use leather, Snappap or oilskin for the bottom of the bag or the outer fabric. It's entirely up to you.

For the large reversible bag TOKO you need the following:

• 2 x 0.5 m cotton/canvas/corduroy/bag fabric (the fabric width must be at least 140 cm. If the fabric is not the full width, the pattern must be adjusted.)
• 1 m webbing (3 cm wide, if wider the pattern must be adjusted)
• possibly reinforcing fleece H250 or H200 or volume fleece, H640 for very thin fabrics
• Color-matching yarn

Optional:

• Leather, oilcloth, Snappap for the floor
• Ribbon, lace or piping, Stylefix for fixing
• appliqués or iron-on transfers
• Straps made of fabric instead of webbing: two times 50 cm x 14 cm
