Sew a versatile bag - as a cosmetic bag or changing case
It's a good thing that you don't usually need just ONE small bag. KECIL is a pattern with different variants and lots of great details. If you don't have the right bag, you can quickly remedy the situation with the basic version of KECIL. If you're lucky, it can be made in less than an hour and can be sewn into almost any look using great fabric combinations. But the KECIL pattern naturally comes with many more variants described in detail! For example, the "cool square one", the "organized one with extra compartments" and the "spacious one with two zippers".
Sewing an individual bag, even as a beginner
Everyone can use a little companion for all the lovely little things - beginners and professionals alike. So it's great that this pattern is quick and easy to sew. We'll explain how to do it step by step, so that all the lovely variations of the KECIL bag are child's play!
The e-book takes you step by step with lots of pictures, making cutting and sewing child's play. The e-book also contains a small basic section in which common terms and sewing vocabulary are briefly explained. Printing and gluing the pattern together is also explained in detail!
The name KECIL
What kind of strange name is that? The name of this little bag is perfect and fits perfectly. KECIL is Indonesian and means "small". And the effect is not small at all, but rather impressive. Why? You'll find out for sure!
Fabric recommendation:
Basically, you can sew KECIL bags from any fabric. But woven fabrics are generally better than stretchy fabrics, as they are more stable overall and give the bag a bit of stability right from the start. Stretchy fabrics, on the other hand, look unsightly. Canvas, decorative fabrics, upholstery fabrics, oilcloth, cork, SnapPap, plastics, oilskin and ReLeda (recycled leather), quilted fabrics, outdoor fabrics and even jeans are all great choices.
Fabric consumption:
The amount of fabric you use depends on the version you want to sew. You can find detailed information about fabric consumption and required materials in the instructions.
For the basic version you need:
- Outer fabric 20 cm long x 70 cm wide
- Fabric for the floor 10 cm long x 70 cm wide
- Inner fabric/lining 25 cm long x 70 cm wide
- 25 cm zipper
- If necessary, interfacing for reinforcement
