Sewing video children's pants RAS
The RAS children's trousers are quick to sew, comfortable trousers with straight legs. (Not harem pants.) Very suitable for beginners! The special thing about the RAS children's trousers: The pattern consists of just one single piece that is cut on the fold. The trousers are therefore only closed with a seam on the bottom, there are no seams on the front or sides. This means that they can be sewn extremely quickly from elastic fabrics such as jersey, summer sweat, sweat, terry cloth or even velour.
Typically, cuffs are provided on the stomach and legs, but they can also be hemmed or an elastic tunnel sewn in instead. The fit of the RAS children's trousers can be easily adjusted to suit your needs. The pattern calls for long trousers, but the leg length can be shortened to 3/4 or shorts according to your own ideas. Pockets are not included in the pattern itself, but any type of patch pocket (eg bum bag) or piping pocket can be added.
The name RAS
What kind of weird name is that? RAS is Indonesian and means running. And what better way for little ones to run around and move than with these comfortable pants?
fabric consumption
For all sizes 92-122 you need at least 70cm of stretchy fabric
For all sizes 128-164 you need at least 100cm of stretchy fabric
If you want to hem the leg ends or sew a folded elastic tunnel, you will need more fabric at the top and bottom.
