Casual shorts for children
Casual surfer shorts or chic Bermuda shorts, this cut can do both. The PANTAI shorts are comfortable pull-on pants with pockets that can be sewn to look cool or chic. Made from airy woven fabrics or robust trouser fabrics, the PANTAI becomes a versatile summer pant for all occasions. Whether it's a formal occasion, a walk on the beach or a normal day, you're always right with the PANTAI shorts. Fake fly and cool flap pockets that can be attached at the back or sides are exciting details. The PANTAI shorts come in two lengths, one above the knee and one to about mid-thigh. The waistband is adjusted to the right width with an elastic band, high comfort factor!
Sewing cool shorts, even as a beginner
The PANTAI trousers with their many details are not an easy project for beginners. However, they can also be sewn without a fake fly and pockets, so even beginners can manage them. Then just tackle the details step by step! The very detailed instructions will guide you through the process.
The e-book takes you step by step with lots of pictures, making cutting and sewing child's play. The e-book also contains a small basic section in which common terms and sewing vocabulary are briefly explained. Printing and gluing the pattern together is also explained in detail!
The name PANTAI
What kind of weird name is that? Imagine a beach, cool surfer dudes waxing their boards, the sun shining. The shorts got their name from this image. PANTAI is Indonesian and means coast/beach.
Fabric recommendation:
Woven fabrics are ideal for the PANTAI shorts. Linen, cotton poplin and other light trouser fabrics are particularly recommended. But the PANTAI can also be a little more robust; for example, you can use light denim or thin corduroy or upcycle an old pair of adult jeans. But you can also get beautiful summer trousers from summer sweats that don't stretch much.
Fabric consumption:
For the knee-length shorts made entirely from a single fabric you will need (assuming a fabric width of 150 cm plus seam allowances and buffer):
Knee-length shorts size 92 - 104: 80 cm fabric
Knee-length shorts size 110 - 128: 90 cm fabric
Knee-length shorts size 134 - 164: 100 cm fabric
