Sewing a Varied Raglan Shirt
A simple, quickly sewn pattern is unbeatable. Don't think too long, cut it out in a flash, put it on the machine and you're done! This makes sewing really fun! The SAMA raglan shirt is sewn in a flash and is unbeatably comfortable. It doesn't matter which version you prefer. The SAMA raglan shirt - which is available for the whole family - can be sewn in the very simple version with a round neck and stitched hem, with short or long sleeves. The more sporty version with cuffs on the arm and hem is also great. It's not that easy to decide which versions to sew, is it? A little tip: it's best to sew all of them.
Sewing a basic shirt, even as an ambitious beginner
The SAMA raglan shirt is unbeatably easy to sew - so it's definitely perfect for beginners. And if you're still a little unsure, you can rely on our step-by-step instructions. Promise! So get to the machine and conjure up one, two or three versions? You certainly won't be able to get enough of it :-)
The name SAMA
What kind of strange name is that? SAMA is Indonesian and means "equal". Since there is SAMA for all family members - from small to large - we thought the name was a great fit.
Fabric recommendation:
Stretchy fabrics such as jersey, knitwear and summer sweats are best suited for your SAMA raglan shirt. When it comes to sweatshirt fabrics, make sure they are cross-elastic, otherwise the sleeves could be too tight. Thin jerseys and viscose jerseys are of course recommended, especially for the summer months.
Fabric consumption:
For the SAMA shirt you need the following amounts of fabric (based on 150 cm fabric width plus seam allowances and buffer):
size 92 - 110 0.65 cm
size 116 - 134 1.15 cm
size 140 - 164 1.40 cm
For the version with cuffs, you can also use cuff fabric if you don't want to sew it from the same fabric.
