Sewing dreamy pajamas
I've always wanted one of these! Does this also cross your mind when you see a classic pair of pajamas? Elegant with a lapel collar, piping on the top and pants, patch pockets and turned-up hems - cozy in (Christmas) cotton flannel or elegant in silk satin? You don't have to dream about that anymore - because you can now sew this dream classic in long or short for yourself, or for the whole family!
The TIDUR cut is actually a classic pajama cut that is guaranteed to impress you - no matter what length you choose. It looks great and is also super comfortable. You can choose the top with a button placket with or without pockets and with or without a hem on the sleeves. Another great detail is the piping on the collar and front edge. You can choose three lengths for the trousers - very short, knee-length or ankle-length. Adjustments in width or length are of course explained in the instructions as always. Tip: You can also lengthen the top to make a nightdress!
Sewing classic pajamas, even as a somewhat experienced beginner
TIDUR is something that everyone can do. We have designed the lapel collar to look like a lapel collar, so that it is easier to sew and still has a great effect. And otherwise, there are no challenges in the cut that you, even a beginner, couldn't handle. So you can get started right away - ideally with the step-by-step instructions. Nothing will go wrong! Try it out.
The e-book takes you step by step with lots of pictures, making cutting and sewing child's play. The e-book also contains a small basic section in which common terms and sewing vocabulary are briefly explained. Printing and gluing the pattern together is also explained in detail!
The name TIDUR
What kind of weird name is that? TIDUR lived up to its name. It's Indonesian and means "sleep". Although the cut is so comfortable that you probably won't want to take it off so quickly when you get up in the morning :)
Fabric recommendation:
Naturally, comfortable cotton fabrics look great with the TIDUR pajamas. This makes your favorite piece a cuddly companion that you don't want to take off in the morning. Flannel is of course a classic here - especially checked at Christmas time! Cretonne or - very classy - satin are also ideal.
Fabric consumption:
For the TIDUR pajamas, you will of course need different amounts of fabric depending on the variant. Here are some key figures for orientation (based on 150 cm fabric width plus seam allowances and buffer):
pajama top
size 92 - 110 = 90 cm
size 116 - 134 = 1.10 m
size 140 - 164 = 1.35 m
pajama pants
size 92 - 110 = 90 cm
size 116 - 134 = 1.00 m
size 140 - 164 = 1.20 m
pajamas overall
size 92 - 110 = 1.80 m
size 116 - 134 = 2.10
size 140 - 164 = 2.55 m
Depending on the variant, you will also need:
- buttons (approx. 6 pieces)
- interfacing for reinforcement
- elastic for the waistband
- piping if necessary
