The e-book contains the pattern (DIN A4 + DIN A0), detailed sewing instructions with many photos and adjustment options as well as practical tips for sewing.
Sewing a convertible shirt with or without division
Sewing a really cool shirt is guaranteed to work with the basic SISA shirt. Very plain or with an interesting division in the front, the T-shirt in a pattern mix or color blocking look really puts boys and girls in a good mood. But SISA is not just a great summer short-sleeved shirt, you also have long sleeves and a full-length front part at your disposal. So SISA can be sewn really quickly! You can also choose between two side lines (fitted or straight) for the perfect fit! A classic turtleneck completes this practical shirt kit, so that you can sew the right top for every season. SISA is sewn from jersey or light knit. The division means that small scraps of fabric can also be used or old favorite shirts can be upcycled.
Sewing a turtleneck shirt or T-shirt, even as a beginner
This cut really looks great with the division! But it's actually really easy to sew the SISA shirt. Even beginners can try making the shirt. Maybe start without the division to practice. The turtleneck is super easy to sew. Get to work on the fabric!
The e-book takes you step by step with lots of pictures, making cutting and sewing child's play. The e-book also contains a small basic section in which common terms and sewing vocabulary are briefly explained. Printing and gluing the pattern together is also explained in detail!
The name SISA
What kind of strange name is that? SISA is Indonesian and means "the rest of it". Because you can use scraps of fabric on the front of this shirt!
Fabric recommendation:
Jersey is of course ideal for the SISA shirt, especially for the T-shirt version. Slub jersey is also great for summer. Ribbed jersey and light (jacquard) knit fabrics are also recommended for a long sleeve or turtleneck. Of course you can also use (sports) Lycra. French terry should be stretchy and should only be used for the loose-fitting version.
Fabric consumption:
For the SISA shirt you need the following amount of fabric (based on 140 cm fabric width including seam allowances and buffer):
Long-sleeved turtleneck shirt:
- Size 110 – 122: 110 cm
- Size 128 – 146: 130 cm
- size 152 – 164: 140 cm
T-shirt with split in the front:
- Fabric 1 (front part 1, sleeves): 40 cm
- Fabric 2 (front part 2, sleeves): 50 cm
- Fabric 3 (front part 3 and back part): 75 cm
- Cuffs for neckline: 10 cm
Additional material:
Depending on the material and variant, you will also need:
- Iron-on reinforcement for knitted fabrics, e.g. interlining
- Cuffs for neckline, approx. 10 cm
