washcloth or sustainable makeup removal pad
Whether for removing make-up or washing your cat, washcloths are a must in every household. Especially not in one with children, where the practical cloths can replace any napkin or kitchen roll - very sustainable!
Small leftover pieces of terry cloth or towels that are no longer completely usable are enough to sew your own individual washcloth. Or a whole set! A fluffy, soft washcloth also makes a great addition to any baby gift set, or can serve as sustainable packaging for a bath additive or perfume!
Sewing washcloths yourself, even as a beginner
A washcloth is really easy to sew and is a great project to do in between other things and gives you a sense of achievement! And a washcloth is useful too. It's nice when sewn things are actually needed and used, isn't it?
The name BASUH
This name is easily explained. BASUH is Indonesian and of course means "wash"!
material
Terry cloth is of course best for a classic washcloth. It can also be a used towel or a broken bathrobe that is upcycled. You can also sew a washcloth out of waffle pique. It is important to use a fabric that dries well and feels comfortable on the skin. The dimensions naturally depend on how big you want your washcloth to be. You can decide this individually, but you can also find dimensions for orientation in the instructions.
