But when you consider how often you briefly hold the sponge in your hand, it's definitely worth using a sustainable item in your desired design. Which materials for a dishwashing sponge?
Non-stretchy fabrics are suitable for your dishwashing sponge, and they can dry quickly. Terry cloth (a used towel), normal cotton woven fabric / poplin or waffle pique are suitable here. You can sew your dishwashing sponge on both sides from the materials mentioned above, or you can choose a side with a slight "scouring effect". Jute is particularly suitable here. If you simply sew the fabrics together, you will get more of a dishcloth. If you want a bit of volume, you can sew in a washable volume fleece. Vlieseline Style-Vil or Vlieseline R80 made from recycled polyester fibers are suitable here, for example.
The name LAP
This name is easily explained. LAP is Indonesian and of course means "rag"!
