Easy Skirt with Slit Sewing

A midi-length skirt with a slit (or without) is suitable for everyday wear or special occasions! You can sew the ROKET pencil skirt in any length you like. Comfortable as loungewear made of knitwear, made of summery jersey, sexy in leather jersey or festive in stretchy sequin fabric, with the ROKET skirt you are the rocket of the day or night. ROKET is not quite tight at the hem, but cut nicely close to the body and has an elastic waistband that you can simply slip into. Easy to sew and a hit when worn! The special thing is the long slit at the front, which you can vary in height as you like, or even leave out. This classic suits small and tall women equally. Great combination partners are narrow or cropped tops that emphasize the waist. You can also wear the ROKET pencil skirt with a cozy knit sweater for a trendy look, loosely tucked into the waistband at the front.

How to sew a pencil skirt, even as a beginner

ROKET is child's play and can actually be sewn very quickly - unless you use a demanding fabric. But if you start with a simple jersey, you can celebrate quick success with this pattern even without sewing experience and cut a dream figure at the next party.

The name ROKET

ROKET is Indonesian and means "rocket". So it's a clear choice for taking off. At the New Year's Eve party or in the office - ROKET will definitely ignite and put you in the spotlight.

Fabric recommendation:

The cut is designed for stretchy materials. Slightly thicker jersey qualities are ideal - especially for beginners in sewing. But other elastic fabrics also work. Slightly firmer materials are great so that the shape doesn't stretch. French terry, pleated jersey, leather jersey or even knit are great. Depending on whether you use a fine fine knit, a casual chunky knit or a jacquard knit, the skirt always looks different. And with elastic sequin fabrics it becomes super festive!

Fabric consumption:

For the ROKET skirt you need the following amounts of fabric (based on 140 cm fabric width plus seam allowances and buffer):

Knee-length version:

• size 34 - 44 = 80 cm
• size 46 - 56 = 1.50 m

Long version:

• size 34 - 44 = 95 cm
• size 46 - 56 = 1.90 m

You also need:

• Rubber, 4 cm wide and maximum 1.30 m long (waist measurement plus 10 cm)
• Matching the fabric , iron-on tape to reinforce the edges, e.g. interfacing tape
