You can never go wrong with the sophisticated SIMPUL knot dress for women and kids. A slight A-shape and knee-length make the dress a chic all-rounder. To better highlight the waist, SIMPUL has an optional exciting detail: a "belt" made of two knotted strips of fabric that draw the eye to the narrowest part. This creates a visual focal point and simply makes a small belly disappear. There are two neckline variants to choose from: a classic round neck or a V-neck as another eye-catcher. Depending on the fabric you choose, SIMPUL can be worn as a formal dress or casually. Stretchy fabrics with a nice drape are suitable. If you don't want to sew the knot, you can simply leave it out - then SIMPUL is a great pattern for a quickly sewn basic dress.

Sewing a dress, even as a beginner

Beginners who have already had some contact with jersey will find the instructions for the SIMPUL knotted dress very easy to follow. If you don't feel confident about tying the knot, you can leave it out for now. But don't be afraid - our instructions will show you step by step how to sew the knot.

The name SIMPUL

What kind of strange name is that? SIMPUL is Indonesian and means "knot". With our instructions, you won't have a knot in your head, but rather a decorative one in your dress!

Fabric recommendation:

The best fabrics for the dress are stretchy fabrics with a nice drape, such as fine knits, jersey, viscose jersey, cupro, stretchy jacquard or other elastic dress fabrics. The fabric should not be too heavy and should have a flowing drape.

Fabric consumption:

For the SIMPUL knot dress with cuffs made from the main fabric, you will need the following amount of fabric (based on a fabric width of 140 cm including seam allowances and buffer):

Size XS, S, M, L: 2.00 m
Size XL, XXL: 2.60 m
