The e-book contains the pattern (DIN A4 + DIN A0), detailed sewing instructions with many photos and adjustment options as well as practical tips for sewing.
Classic sheath dress
The simple secret of some classic items of clothing that never fail to delight us is their restraint. The sheath dress is one of them. Simple, figure-hugging, timeless - these are the typical characteristics that are also skilfully used in the KLASIK pattern. Available in a classic sleeveless version or with half sleeves or 3/4 length. The neckline is typically round or with a smart V-neck. And beautifully classic - the concealed slit at the back of the figure-hugging skirt is a sophisticated detail. The KLASIK sheath dress is quite inconspicuous, but has a sensational, feminine effect. No closet should be without a well-fitting sheath dress.
Sewing a well-fitting sheath dress, for advanced sewers
Admittedly, KLASIK is not a beginner's project. You should have sewn one or two pieces for this sheath dress. But it's not that complicated, especially not with our instructions. The key is to try it on. That's the key to success and we'll show you step by step what you need to pay attention to. This way you can create a zipper, darts, facing and hidden slit in no time. Really! ;)
The name KLASIK
What kind of strange name is that? This dress shouldn't have been called anything else. KLASIK is Indonesian and means "classic". A classic for every wardrobe that impresses with one thing above all - its elegant restraint.
Fabric recommendation:
Woven fabric with a nice, heavy drape is best for the dress. It can be a little stretchy for comfort, but the fabric ideally needs a firm base structure. Typical qualities include crepe, satin, twill, linen, viscose-linen, Romanit, pique and light wool fabrics. Fabrics such as jacquard, denim, velvet or fabrics specifically for cocktail wear also create great effects. Depending on the fabric, however, this requires a bit of experience.
Tip: With this cut, it is recommended that you first sew a test dress out of a cheap fabric so that you can see whether the cut fits perfectly. Only then should you cut and process your favorite fabric.
Fabric consumption:
For the KLASIK dress, you will of course need different amounts of fabric depending on the variant. Here are some key figures for orientation (based on a fabric width of 150 cm including seam allowances and buffer):
Version in mini length, sleeveless
Size 34 - 40 = 2 m;
Size 42 - 48 = 2.10 m;
Size 50 - 56 = 2.20 m
Midi length version, sleeveless
Size 34 - 40 = 2.50 m;
Size 42 - 48 = 2.60 m;
Size 50 - 56 = 2.70 m
mini-length version with 3/4 sleeves
Size 34 - 40 = 2.60 m;
Size 42 - 48 = 2.70 m;
Size 50 - 56 = 2.80 m
Midi-length version with 3/4 sleeves
Size 34 - 40 = 3.10 m;
Size 42 - 48 = 3.20 m;
Size 50 - 56 = 3.20 m
With the half-sleeve version, the fabric consumption is reduced by approx. 20 cm.
