Video sewing instructions jumpsuit RIANG
Long woven jumpsuit
Depending on the fabric you choose, the RIANG jumpsuit is a casual piece for every day or elegant for the next party. A jumpsuit with long legs is the perfect choice for any season. One piece and you're already dressed! In any case, we recommend softly falling woven fabric so that the trendy wide cut comes into its own. The comfortably cut jumpsuit impresses with a round neckline, short or long sleeves and a choice of button placket or zipper. The trouser legs are wide and casually cut, but can also be fitted with an elastic band at the hem. We've also thought of practical pockets on the trousers. A good fit is ensured by an elastic tunnel in the waist, for which we can offer three processing options. So, fancy this great one-piece? Optionally, you can also lengthen the top a little and sew it as a casual blouse! The RIANG cut is also available for kids!
A jumpsuit is a wonderfully versatile piece. With RIANG, the short sleeves are attached directly to the front and back. Alternatively, you can add long sleeves, which makes the whole thing suitable for the cooler months. For the front closure, you can choose between a button placket or a cool zipper, which you can use to set special accents. The casually falling cut is kept in check with an elastic band at the waist. Here you can work with an attached drawstring, from the seam allowance or simply sew the elastic on with a zigzag stitch, we explain all 3 versions to you! The trendy wide trouser legs are simply hemmed or sewn with an elastic band. Lots of options as you can see. Have fun testing!
Sewing casual or elegant overalls, even as a sewing beginner
With these detailed step-by-step instructions, you will be able to sew this jumpsuit yourself very easily. The individual steps are not difficult. At most, you will need a little patience in one place or another to make sure everything is accurate. But the fabric also helps you a little here. Woven fabrics, especially cotton, can usually be sewn without any major problems. So there is no excuse.
The e-book takes you step by step with lots of pictures, making cutting and sewing child's play. The e-book also contains a small basic section in which common terms and sewing vocabulary are briefly explained. Printing and gluing the pattern together is also explained in detail!
The name RIANG
There are cuts that automatically lift your mood. The RIANG jumpsuit is definitely one of them, because the name says it all. RIANG is Indonesian and means cheerful.
Fabric recommendation:
The best fabric for the jumpsuit is woven fabric with a soft drape, very important! We recommend blouse fabrics such as viscose woven fabric, viscose crepe, voile, georgette, soft thin (shirt) denim (chambray), blouse jacquard, satin, silk, etc. You could also sew in a double layer with lace fabric and lining fabric!
Fabric consumption:
For the RIANG jumpsuit you need the following amount of fabric (based on 140 cm fabric width including seam allowances and buffer):
With cropped, short sleeve
- size 34 - 38 = 2.40 m
- size 40 - 44 = 3.00 m
- size 46 - 50 = 3.60 m
- size 52 - 56 = 3.80 m
With long sleeves
- size 34 - 38 = 2.90 m
- size 40 - 44 = 3.00 m
- size 46 - 50 = 3.60 m
- size 52 - 56 = 3.80 m
You also need:
- - Elastic band 0.5 - 1 cm wide for the waist. The best way to determine the length is to use the waist measurement plus seam allowance.
- - Depending on the fabric, you will need some Vlieseline H180 and Vlieseline forming tape to reinforce the button placket and shoulder seams .
- - 5-8 buttons for the button panel or
-
a zipper with length
size 34 - 38 = 40 cm
size 40 - 44 = 45 cm
size 46 - 50 = 50 cm
size 52 - 56 = 55 cm
Alternatively, you can also use an endless zipper.
