Sewing comfortable and chic pull-on trousers

Cute shorts or chic long trousers, the CELI pull-on trousers are simply the perfect choice for every occasion. Made from light woven fabrics such as poplin, muslin or linen, they are the right companion for spring and summer, and made from thicker fabrics such as soft corduroy or wool, they are also ready for autumn and winter. The optional fake fly and pockets are exciting details. Depending on which version you sew, you get casual trousers or business trousers suitable for the office. The CELI trousers come in two lengths, as shorts or long trousers, but they can also be cropped to 7/8 length, for example, or you can put elastic bands in the hem. The waistband can be sewn normally or as a paper bag and is adjusted to the right width with a wide elastic band, high comfort factor! (The CELI trousers are also available in children's sizes!)

Sewing woven trousers, even as a beginner

The CELI trousers with their many details are not an easy project for beginners. However, they can also be sewn without a fake fly and pockets, so even beginners can manage them. Then just tackle the details step by step! The very detailed instructions will guide you through the process.

The e-book takes you step by step with lots of pictures, making cutting and sewing child's play. The e-book also contains a small basic section in which common terms and sewing vocabulary are briefly explained. Printing and gluing the pattern together is also explained in detail!

The name CELI

What kind of strange name is that? CELI is Indonesian and means "amused" or "cute". And that sums up the range of different looks of CELI pants quite well!

Fabric recommendation:

Softly falling woven fabrics are ideal for the CELI trousers. Linen, muslin and other light trouser fabrics are recommended for shorts or light summer trousers. The CELI can also be a little warmer for autumn and winter, for example you can use suit fabrics made of wool or soft corduroy. But you can also get nice trousers out of summer sweats that don't stretch. CELI is of course really suitable for business when made from suit and costume fabrics. You shouldn't use fabrics that are too firm/thick for the paperbag waistband.

Fabric consumption:

You may need a little less fabric than stated here. That depends on the width of the fabric, how much NZ you are sewing with, how space-saving you are arranging the pieces and what the pattern on your fabric is. With the fabric consumption stated here you are definitely on the safe side:
For the trousers you need (based on 140 cm fabric width plus seam allowances and buffer):

Long trousers: 250 cm. Shorts: 140 cm

Only sizes 34 - 38 if the fabric is 160 cm wide:
Long trousers: 150 cm. Shorts: 85 cm

You will also need some fabric for the seam pockets and the inside of the butt pockets, but it shouldn't be too thick.
