Sewing a Simple Cardigan

Cardigans are one of the absolute basics of every wardrobe. The JUJUR cardigan will be a loyal, warm companion in cold winters and on warm summer evenings! This cardigan simply fits in every season. It is comfortable and can be combined perfectly: elegantly in fine knit or casually in coarse knit! The JUJUR cut impresses with a very contemporary look - beautifully feminine with a deep V-neck, casually cut and with wide raglan sleeves, as a cheeky cropped version or a classic long version. And the best thing: JUJUR is a year-round companion and a great combination piece, very versatile! Depending on which look you feel like. Easy cardigan sewing, even as a beginner

Most knitted fabrics are easy to work with! Of course, there are a few tricks to keep in mind, but we guarantee to make it really easy for you. With these step-by-step instructions, even sewing beginners can make their JUJUR cardigan with a little courage and patience - with or without buttonholes. Are you in?

The name JUJUR

JUJUR is a great name in our opinion. It is Indonesian and means "honest". To be honest, could there be a more fitting name? :-)

Fabric recommendation:

Stretchy knit fabrics with a nice drape are best for the JUJUR jacket. Depending on whether you use a fine fine knit, a casual chunky knit or a jacquard knit, the jacket always looks different. The JUJUR cardigan also works with sweat!

It is particularly important to stabilize edges and hems when working with knitted fabrics. Otherwise the shoulder will distort, the sleeve will become longer and longer, or the hem will become wider and more baggy. You can of course find tips on this in the instructions!

For the JUJUR jacket you need the following amount of fabric (based on 140 cm fabric width including seam allowances and buffer):

Size XS, S, M, L = 1.60 m
Size XL, XXL, XXXL = 2.40 m

For the cropped version you can count on 30 cm less fabric.

You also need:

• 1 m slightly elastic interlining strip, 1 cm wide, or seam tape to reinforce the edges and hems (e.g. Vlieseline seam tape flexible , Vlieseline Framilastic . For the hem e.g. Vlieseline Perfect Hem , Vlieseline Stretchfix )
• If necessary, buttons, snap fasteners or hook fasteners
