Sewing a trendy shirt blouse
With a classic shirt blouse, anything is possible! Whether classic in white or trendy in bright colors - the loose and comfortable TULEN shirt blouse with great details is an indispensable basic piece and makes a real statement. The blouse impresses with its classic collar, button placket, back yoke and comfortable pleat at the back. There are three hem variants to choose from, as well as a breast pocket. The timelessly elegant blouse works casually chic in muslin with jeans, as well as elegantly in satin with high-waisted trousers. In summer, it is a great companion as a cover-up over a bikini or top, and in winter, the shirt can be a warming addition under crop tops. The fabric determines the look! A classic cotton fabric is just as suitable as cozy flannel with a check pattern, muslin, linen, viscose woven fabric, satin or shirt jeans. By the way, you can also find the right fabrics for the pattern in the shop! The TULEN pattern is also available for children.
Casual, chic, classic! That's the TULEN shirt blouse. As a cool denim shirt, casual flannel shirt, summery cover-up in the evening or even a formal blouse for festive occasions, this shirt cuts a really good figure! The choice of fabric makes all the difference! Casual and summery in white muslin, chic in viscose crepe with a floral print, classy and shiny in satin or as a real trendy item in bright pink. Tucked into the waistband, knotted, open or just like that, the different hemlines give the cut additional versatility. Choose between a classic straight hem, a curved hemline that is higher on the sides, or the "mullet" look with the slightly shorter straight hemline at the front and the longer curved hemline at the back. It's hard to decide which version to sew first!
Sewing a fashionable shirt, even as a somewhat experienced seamstress
TULEN is admittedly a bit of a challenge, but we will master it together. We have put together a great step-by-step guide for you that explains every trick. Of course, it would be an advantage if you have sewn one or two pieces before - but it is not a requirement.
The e-book takes you step by step with lots of pictures, making cutting and sewing child's play. The e-book also contains a small basic section in which common terms and sewing vocabulary are briefly explained. Printing and gluing the pattern together is also explained in detail!
The name TULEN
What kind of strange name is that? TULEN is Indonesian and means "real". Why does the name fit so well? Well, take a look. Really cool, this shirt cut, isn't it ?
Fabric recommendation:
Classic cotton shirt fabrics are ideal for the TULEN shirt blouse. Poplin, cretonne, bunting, shirt checks, fine corduroy, linen (mix), light twill. These are also easy to work with. Soft flannel, trendy light denim fabric (chambray) or checks - you will love this shirt. But blouse fabrics such as muslin, voile, batiste, satin and viscose woven fabric also look great with TULEN!
Fabric consumption:
For the TULEN shirt you need the following amounts of fabric (based on 140 cm fabric width plus seam allowances and buffer):
- size 34 - 38 = 1.50 m
- size 40 - 44 = 1.60 m
- size 46 - 50 = 2.00 m
- size 52 - 56 = 2.10 m
Depending on the variant, you will also need:
- buttons (approx. 10 - 12 pieces)
- Interlining for reinforcement matching your fabric, e.g. G405
