Sewing a Simple Blouse Shirt

There are cuts that don't need a long explanation, but are convincing in their simplicity. The LAPANG blouse is one of them. This cut, designed for woven fabric, is an absolute hit in itself, the beautiful details such as the yoke or the fake button placket give it a very special flair without being obtrusive. Restrained and elegant! The side line and the sleeves are cut quite loosely, making LAPANG a pleasantly airy companion, especially in summer. If you like it a little more body-hugging, you can simply add a narrow elastic band to the hem and sleeve hem. This gives the blouse a completely different look. The LAPANG blouse is pretty versatile, isn't it?

Easy blouse sewing, even as a beginner

The LAPANG blouse is really child's play! We promise! You don't actually need any sewing experience, because we'll show you step by step how to create your new favorite piece. Even the button panel is a simple matter, because we've opted for the fake versions here. Not only is it sewn in a jiffy, but it's also super easy!

The e-book takes you step by step with lots of pictures, making cutting and sewing child's play. The e-book also contains a small basic section in which common terms and sewing vocabulary are briefly explained. Printing and gluing the pattern together is also explained in detail!

The name LAPANG

LAPANG is Indonesian and means "airy". There couldn't be a better name, could there? Especially if you sew this beautiful blouse from a soft, flowing fabric.

Fabric recommendation:

The blouse works perfectly in light, soft and airy fabrics - of course cotton or linen, but cotton blends or polyester fabrics also work well. Classic blouse fabrics include viscose, silk, satin, batiste or chiffon. But muslin, flannel or scuba are also suitable materials.

For the LAPANG blouse you need the following amounts of fabric (based on 150 cm fabric width plus seam allowances and buffer):

size XS - M 1.50 m
size L - XL 1.70 m
Size XXL - XXXL 2.40 m

If you want to sew the version with a button placket, you will ideally need some interfacing, edging and buttons.
Here is the approximate length for the edging tape (including buffer):

XS - S = 70 cm
M - L = 75 cm
XL - XXL = 80 cm
XXXL = 85 cm
