Sewing baby clothes, even as a beginner

The 3 patterns from this set are definitely recommended projects for beginners. They are quick and easy to sew. With the detailed sewing instructions, they will really put you in a good mood! So, don't waste any time and get started :-)

Each e-book takes you step by step with lots of pictures, making cutting and sewing child's play. The e-book also contains a small basic section in which common terms and sewing vocabulary are briefly explained. Printing and gluing the pattern together is also explained in detail!

The Baby Shirt MANIS

The baby shirt is an absolute favorite. The cut sleeves give the shirt a casual comfort, so that the little ones can feel right at home. The round neckline, which also goes a little deeper in the back, allows even little stubborn ones to slip into the shirt easily.

Manis is made from one cut piece, optionally with sleeve and hem cuffs. The highlight: The Manis baby shirt can be cut along the fold at the shoulder seam. This makes sewing really quick, because then there is basically only one seam to sew.

If you like, you can also sew the baby shirt as a jacket. For this version, a button strip is cut at the front center.

How to make size and length adjustments to the pattern is described in the e-book. The instructions are well illustrated and very detailed. This pattern is uncomplicated and absolutely suitable for beginners.

The name MANIS

MANIS is Indonesian and means "sweet" in English. The name not only stands for this cute shirt, but also says a lot about its wearers. Because all of our little ones are mega-manis, right?

Fabric recommendation:

Stretchy fabrics are generally suitable for the Manis baby shirt, especially so that it can be easily slipped through the neckline. We recommend jerseys, knits and summer sweats, which give the shirt a little more stability.

Please note: Sweatshirt fabrics are only suitable if they are cross-stretchy.

We recommend using woven fabrics exclusively for the version with a button placket.

Fabric consumption:

For a fabric width of 150 cm (including NZ, 3 cm hem and some buffer):

Cutting as 1 pattern piece

Size 56 – 80: 80 cm

Size 86 – 98: 1 m

cut with shoulder seam

Size 56 – 80: 50 cm

Size 86 – 98: 1 m

cut as a jacket

Size 56 – 98: 1 m

The comfortable jogging pants SANTAI

It's comfortable, it's uncomplicated and guaranteed to be a favorite - and the SANTAI baby jogging pants are also really easy to sew. Do you need any more arguments? Hardly, but we have some! These wonderful details like side pockets or patch pockets, cute back pockets and cuffs on the waistband and hem. All in all, a pretty nice package for the little ones, in our opinion.

The name SANTAI

There couldn't be a better name for these comfortable baby sweatpants. SANTAI is Indonesian and means "relax". Let's hope the name says it all :-)

Fabric recommendation:

Classic sweat, French terry, jersey, velour or even elastic corduroy are suitable for the SANTAI baby jogging pants. You can either sew the waistband and the leg ends from the same fabric as the pants, as long as it is a bit stretchy, or we recommend cuff fabric. To ensure that the waistband stays in place, an elastic band can be inserted, which is particularly advisable for older children.

Fabric consumption:

For the SANTAI baby pants you need the following amount of fabric (based on 140 cm fabric width plus seam allowances and buffer):

You need the following amount of material:
size 56 – 68 = 50 cm
size 74 – 86 = 55 cm
size 92 – 98 = 60 cm

In all sizes
– If necessary, cuffs
– Framilonband
– Elastic band, 2-3 cm wide, in waist size
– matching sewing thread

The Knotted Hat MiniMop

The 'MiniMop' is a hat with 2 knots and a cuff. The idea doesn't seem innovative at first glance, BUT it is in detail! This knotted hat sits tightly on the head and doesn't give it a chance to slip.

Here you can find the padded extension Icy MiniMop .

The knotted horns are angled so that the knots fall to the right and left of the head and therefore do not get in the way in the baby carrier, child seat or stroller. They also serve to give the MiniMop an individual look (knot tight/loose on the head) or to fine-tune the hat size. And when wearing a bicycle helmet - simply undo the knots ;) Just like our children, their head shapes are individual, so MiniMop can vary in terms of fit. For this reason, I recommend measuring the child's head precisely before you start.
