Sewing baby bloomers - with that certain something extra!

Bloomers are comfortable and casual - and they look so cute on babies! MUDA are such pants, with a comfortable shape and nicely puffy legs. As a special highlight, they include chic knee patches and there are small darts on the bottom that give the pants a little extra width - perfect for cloth diapers, for example, which often need a little more space. Whether cloth diapers or not, the MUDA pants are a chic basic item in the baby's wardrobe and can be combined excellently. Super practical and easy to sew - that's the MUDA bloomers. Even beginners will have a blast making these pants! They are sewn from stretchy fabrics such as velour, jersey, sweat or trendy soft corduroy jersey. The MUDA bloomers are also a great gift for a new baby!

The comfortable MUDA bloomers have one crucial advantage over "normal bloomers" for babies: the darts on the bottom! These small darts give the pants much more freedom of movement! The MUDA also offers enough space for cloth diapers. The darts are super easy to sew!

The harem pants have a comfortable waistband made of ribbed fabric at the stomach. For older children who are already crawling or walking, an elastic band can be inserted into the waistband to give the pants more support. Soft cuffs are also provided on the legs. A cute (optional) eye-catcher - and absolutely practical for crawling babies - are the knee patches that are sewn onto the front of the pants.

The name MUDA

MUDA is Indonesian and means "young". And such comfortable, cute pants are perfect for our young earthlings!

Sewing baby bloomers, even as a beginner

The MUDA bloomers for babies are perfect for beginners. The small darts are really easy to sew! Above all, we will help you with these step-by-step instructions and explain everything in detail.

The e-book takes you step by step with lots of pictures, making cutting and sewing child's play. The e-book also contains a small basic section in which common terms and sewing vocabulary are briefly explained. Printing and gluing the pattern together is also explained in detail!

Fabric recommendation:

Jersey, Nicki, sweat, French terry, elastic double-face fabrics, elastic corduroy, or not too flowing jacquard are suitable for the MUDA bloomers. You can also use leftover woven fabric or jeans for the knee patches. You also need cuff fabric for the leg ends and the waistband. Make sure that it is not too loose. You can put an elastic band in so that the waistband stays in place. This is particularly useful when the little ones are already mobile.

Fabric consumption:

For the MUDA bloomers you need the following amount of fabric (based on 140 cm fabric width plus seam allowances and buffer):

Size 56 + 62: 35 cm
Size 68 + 74: 40 cm
Size 80 + 86: 45 cm
Size 92 + 98: 50 cm

In all sizes you also need:

• 0.30 m of cuff fabric
• fabric scraps for the knee patches
• possibly Vliesofix or Stretchfix to iron on the patches
• possibly elastic band, 4 cm wide in waist width
• matching sewing thread
