The e-book contains detailed sewing instructions with many photos and adjustment options as well as practical sewing tips.
Sewing a versatile hooded towel
The waves are crashing, the sun is shining, maybe there's a stiff breeze blowing or you need to warm up after swimming and surfing? This is where the comfortable LAUTAN bathing poncho comes in handy! A large deluxe "hooded towel" under which you can change without anyone looking at you. The LAUTAN poncho is practical for the whole family: from babies to children to teenagers and adults. It's nice and long and covers the knees, and the large hood keeps the wind out and the head warm. The necessary little things can be stored in the bum bag. It's also great as a casual beach tunic, for example made of muslin. By the way, the poncho is also available for Barbie and Ken! Nothing stands in the way of a visit to the beach or outdoor pool, is it? For the winter, you can of course also sew the bathing poncho as a cozy blanket.
Sewing a cozy poncho, even as a beginner
The LAUTAN bathing poncho is sewn from rectangles, one for the body and one for the hood. The bum bag is simply attached. A great project for sewing beginners, who can use it to dress the whole family for a visit to the bathing lake!
The e-book takes you step by step with lots of pictures, making cutting and sewing child's play. The e-book also contains a small basic section in which common terms and sewing vocabulary are briefly explained. Printing and gluing the pattern together is also explained in detail!
The name LAUTAN
What kind of strange name is that? The sound of the sea, sunshine, cuddling up in a big towel or strolling along the promenade. LAUTAN is Indonesian and means sea.
Fabric recommendation:
For the bath poncho, we recommend fabric that dries quickly. Terry cloth is of course the best choice, but you can also use jersey terry cloth or waffle piqué. Instead of buying extra fabric, you can also upcycle a large bath towel! You can easily sew a beach tunic version without a hood out of muslin! Light blouse fabrics such as viscose woven fabric, batiste or voile are also ideal. For the winter, you can of course also sew the bath poncho as a cozy blanket. Fabrics such as wellness fleece or cozy sweat are suitable for this.
Fabric consumption:
Of course, you need less fabric for the beach tunic as a shirt than for the long bathing poncho version.
For the knee-length version with fabric width 150 cm including NZ, 3 cm hem and buffer:
Baby (up to size 92): 1.10 m
Child (size 98 - size 122): 1.30 - 1.60 m
Teen (size 128 - size 164): 1.70 - 1.90 m
Adult (all sizes): 2.30 - 2.70 m
