With this sewing kit you get everything you need for the PADAN wool suit from a single source. You even save 15% compared to buying the necessary sewing supplies individually! We tested the cut and fabric for you in advance and matched the materials perfectly. So that you can have a clear conscience, we pay attention to sustainability in all of our sewing kits!
Certified boiled wool made from 100% wool, combined with a color-coordinated jersey and cuffs (both also certified), as well as matching organic sewing thread - this will be your cozy PADAN baby suit. The material set also includes sustainable real wood buttons. This means you can sew the PADAN boiled wool suit in the lined version with a button strip and cuffs that grow with the baby.
The amount of material included is sufficient for all sizes specified in the pattern.
The PADAN pattern is NOT INCLUDED in the sewing kit, please put it separately in your shopping cart if required! You can find it here as an e-book or here as a paper pattern .

Environmentally friendly and high quality
The special thing about the Nähfrosch sewing kits is that we use materials that are as environmentally friendly and sustainable as possible. That's why you'll only find carefully selected, high-quality materials in our sewing kits that you'll enjoy for a long time. The fabrics are certified, the buttons are made from renewable raw materials, and the sewing thread is organic. You can find the exact details about the materials in this sewing kit below!
We think the processes through to the end: we also care about the environment when it comes to packaging. You receive a recyclable shipping box that is already made of 70% recycled material. We pay attention to small package sizes so that transport is as resource-efficient as possible. Instead of wrapping your fabric in tissue paper or even plastic, we wrap it in a layer of 100% recycled, environmentally friendly wrapping paper. We do not use stickers as these can impair recyclability. Our environmentally friendly parcel tape is made from uncoated kraft paper and the adhesive is made from natural rubber. This means it can be recycled with the shipping box.

The sewing kit contents in detail
- Wool felt according to Oeko-Tex Standard 100
Boiled wool is currently very trendy. Boiled wool is very robust, provides excellent warmth and is easy to work with. The boiled wool included in the sewing kit is made of 100% wool, is certified according to the Oeko-Tex Standard 100 and complies with the RWS - Responsible Wool Standard. The natural boiled wool keeps you pleasantly warm, and rain, snow and the next puddle of mud roll off it. Moisture and dirt remain on the surface and can be easily brushed off later. Boiled wool is very robust, is easy to cut and forgives minor sewing errors quite well. Loden holds its shape well and buttonholes can be sewn without any major problems.
Brief information on the RWS - Responsible Wool Standard:
This standard prohibits mulesing. Sheep farms are audited to ensure good animal welfare. Progressive land management methods are practiced on RWS farms to protect soil, health, biodiversity and native species. Social requirements complement this standard.
- Jersey according to Oeko-Tex Standard 100
Cotton jersey is perfect as a lining for the boiled wool suit. It is sometimes said that boiled wool should not be lined because then the "good properties" are lost. That's true: if you were to put your child naked in an unlined boiled wool suit, then the great properties of the wool would come into their own. But since the little ones are clothed anyway, a lining is a good idea. Of course, only cotton jersey, certified according to Oeko-Tex Standard 100, was considered for our sewing kit.
- cuffs according to Oeko-Tex Standard 100
We also paid attention to the Oeko-Tex Standard 100 when selecting the cuff material for the sewing kit. The smooth cuff is knitted in a tube, consists of 95% CO / 5% EL and has a weight of 265 g/m 2 .
- Sustainable olive wood buttons
Dark, delicate stripes run evenly through the wood of the olive tree and ensure individual grain in the buttons. Olive wood is particularly hard and dense, which makes it a durable and age-resistant raw material. The wood of the olive tree is particularly environmentally friendly and sustainable, as it is a natural, renewable resource that is compostable at the end of a product's life cycle. The slow-growing olive trees are only cut down when they no longer produce olives and olive oil. The flat real wood buttons are made in Europe, have a visible individual grain and a raised edge.
- Organic sewing thread
Conscious sewing also includes the sewing thread! The 100% organic sewing thread contributes to protecting our environment. All production processes of the Scanfil Organic Cotton cotton yarn follow the GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) guidelines. No toxic chemicals are used in the cultivation of the organic cotton. Natural insecticides protect plants, the environment and ultimately people. The spools are made of environmentally friendly wood. The sewing thread is durable and has excellent sewing properties.
