Opens at the collar - that's typical for this turtleneck sweater, also known as a pullover. And it's exactly this detail that makes the BUKA sweater an unbeatably comfortable classic. In combination with the dividing seams in the front and on the arm, this favorite piece becomes an unbeatable trendy piece. You can sew this great cut either as a sweater or a jacket. And the cropped version is an absolute eye-catcher. BUKA is a unisex cut that is also very popular with boys and - since there is also an adult version - is also an absolute hit with the whole family.

Sewing an individual sweater, even as a somewhat experienced beginner

BUKA is actually suitable for all sewing skills. Beginners will definitely get to their goal with the step-by-step instructions, even if the zipper seems a bit tricky at first. And for those who have already sewn everything, this pattern is not only sewn in a jiffy, but is guaranteed to be a long-term companion!

The name BUKA

What kind of strange name is that? BUKA is Indonesian and means "to open". There couldn't have been a better name for this Nähfrosch pattern, do you think?

Fabric recommendation:

The BUKA sweater looks best in comfortable and stretchy fabrics, of course. This makes your favorite piece a cozy companion that you never want to take off. We specifically recommend sweat, summer sweat, fleece, thicker knit (not fine knit) and jacquard knit.

Fabric consumption:

You need the same amount of fabric for the BUKA sweater and the jacket version. Here is the maximum amount of fabric needed as a guide if you sew BUKA from one fabric (assuming a fabric width of 150 cm plus seam allowances and buffer):

Size 92 - 110 = 0.90 m
Size 116 - 134 = 1.25 m
Size 140 - 164 = 1.60 m

Note: We have calculated the maximum amount you need if you sew your favorite piece from one fabric. Of course, the amount will be reduced depending on the pieces you sew from a different fabric or if you choose the cropped version.

You also need for BUKA:

• Short zipper for the front neckline. Lengths for orientation: 92 - 104 = 16 cm, 110 - 122 = 18 cm, 128 - 140 = 20 cm, 146 - 152 = 22 cm, 158 - 164 = 24 cm

• Long zipper for the jacket version. Lengths for orientation: 92/98 = 45 cm, 104 - 116 = 50 cm, 122/128 = 55 cm, 134/140 = 60 cm, 146/152 = 65 cm, 158/164 = 70 cm
