Quickly sew casual shorts with pockets

"I have never sewn shorts that fit so well!" Is there a better compliment for a cut than this direct quote from one of our test sewers? We think not, and we are delighted that the PANAS shorts are already such a favorite. They impress with a simple, plain cut, a casual fit and side seam pockets. The shorts can be sewn with cuffs made of jersey or cuff fabric. Eyelets and cord are a nice addition. The hem is simply sewn over and topstitched. The PANAS shorts are designed for stretchy fabrics such as jersey, Lycra, sweat, French terry or jacquard - anything that moves with you and is light and summery. Made from functional fabrics, the PANAS shorts are of course also perfect for PE lessons.

An absolute basic pattern that no closet should be without is PANAS. These easy-to-combine shorts are so quick to sew that you'll be making a few pairs in no time! With or without seam pockets - a summer without the practical, casual PANAS shorts is possible but pointless. ;)

Sewing practical shorts - even as a sewing beginner

The PANAS pattern is a very quick pattern - easy to sew and quick to make. We'll show you how easy it is to do in the detailed instructions. Anyone can try it - even without sewing experience!

The e-book takes you step by step with lots of pictures, making cutting and sewing child's play. The e-book also contains a small basic section in which common terms and sewing vocabulary are briefly explained. Printing and gluing the pattern together is also explained in detail!

The name PANAS

PANAS is Indonesian and means "hot". That makes sense, doesn't it? Because these cool shorts are particularly good for hot days.

Fabric recommendation:

For the PANAS shorts, we recommend stretchy fabrics and ideally not too thin materials. E.g. jersey, lycra, sweat, French terry or jacquard.

For the PANAS pattern you need (based on 140 cm fabric width plus seam allowances and buffer):

• size 92 - 110 = 0.40 m
• size 116 - 152 = 0.45 m
• size 158 - 164 = 0.50 m

Additional materials:

In addition, you may need interfacing for reinforcement, eyelets, cord and possibly cuffs.
