Beschreibung

shower cap or cover

You can now easily sew the hood for all occasions yourself. This is a practical way to protect your hair from the water when you shower, or to finally cover a bowl that doesn't have a lid. You can sew TUTUP in one or two layers.

You don't want to wash your hair every day, but you do want to shower! The TUTUP cap protects your hair from splashes of water when you shower. The elastic band on the edge ensures a particularly good hold. And unlike the thin disposable shower caps, the self-sewn cap can of course be used several times. TUTUP also works as a practical bowl cover on the same principle! Sewn exactly to the size of the bowl, everything will stay fresh in the future.

Sewing a practical hood, even as a beginner

Never sewn anything with elastic before? This could be your first project! Absolutely suitable for beginners, not very fabric-intensive and ready in a flash. The next potato salad for a birthday will be covered so stylishly that even your mother (in-law) will be amazed at your sewing skills.

The name TUTUP

For every pot there is a lid! In this case it's more of a bonnet, but we don't want to be like that. TUTUP is Indonesian and means lid in English. So get to the bowl!

material

Materials such as raincoat fabric, coated cotton or, if it is to be washable, PUL fabric, which is used for the outside of cloth diaper pants, are suitable for the shower cap. Water-repellent fabrics or beeswax cloth are also suitable for bowl covers. But a simple cover made of woven cotton or even tulle to keep flies away also makes sense.

The amount of fabric used depends entirely on the size you are sewing and whether you are sewing a single-layer or double-layered hood. For a double-layered hood, you will of course need the fabric circle twice, for a single-layered hood, only once. You can find the measurements in the instructions, or you can adjust them individually to your bowl. You will also need elastic or elastic cord for your hood. 0.5 cm wide elastic is ideal for the shower cap. You will need enough of it to fit around your head/around the bowl.
