It's not for nothing that blazers and short jackets are basics. Every capsule wardrobe only really makes sense with a short jacket like this. The RESMI short jacket is straight and slightly boxy. Chest darts guarantee a perfect fit in sizes L - XXL. You can easily lengthen the jacket as you like. RESMI also looks great in coat length!

Depending on the fabric you choose, RESMI can be elegant or casual, but always very comfortable. Whether it's made from a chic coat fabric, warm felt or super trendy plush, with the boxy cut RESMI you're immediately dressed correctly. You can sew RESMI as a short jacket as intended in the pattern, or you can simply lengthen the jacket and sew yourself a light coat. RESMI is collarless and is fastened with hidden hooks at the front, or simply worn open. In sizes L - XXL, bust darts ensure a good shape. You can casually fold the sleeves outwards, which looks great, especially with double-face fabrics.

Sewing a trendy short jacket, even as an ambitious beginner

This pattern is actually quite simple and can be sewn by ambitious beginners with some experience. The only difficulties are the bust darts and the collar finished with a facing. However, a fabric that is not too thick will be manageable even for beginners.

The name RESMI

What kind of strange name is that? Short jacket RESMI - an all-rounder suitable for the office. RESMI is Indonesian and means "official". That suits this serious jacket cut, which also looks good as a blazer.

Fabric recommendation:

The best fabrics for the jacket are non-stretchy fabrics that are not too thick or too stiff. Classic coat fabrics are suitable for the RESMI short jacket. But felt, boucle, twill and suit fabric are also ideal. The finer and thinner the fabric, the more feminine. But the blazer can also be sewn beautifully from jacquard or corduroy.

For the RESMI short jacket you need the following amount of fabric (based on 140 cm fabric width including seam allowances and buffer):

Size XS, S, M, L - 1.60 m
Size XL, XXL – 1.90 m

You also need:

• 0.60 - 0.70 m slightly elastic interlining, 90 cm wide, e.g. Vlieseline H410
• 2 hooks with eyelets
