Sew a varied blouse - with ruffles and/or piping or "clean"

The SENI blouse is a loose-fitting blouse with a ruffle insert that is guaranteed to attract attention. And it doesn't matter which version you choose. They are all incredibly beautiful - round or pointed, simply worked or with piping. Or completely customized to your ideas, for example with lace trim. The ruffle insert runs decoratively along the front and back and is closed with two buttons at the back neckline. It is available in two versions, round or pointed V-shaped. The sleeves, long or as a 3/4 version, are slightly ruffled at the hem and end with a cuff. The cut and all its details are particularly beautiful when it is sewn from softly falling fabrics such as viscose woven fabric or voile. This underlines the feminine look.

So many variations! You can really let your creativity run wild with the SENI blouse. The cut itself is loose-fitting, the special thing is the insert at the top. You can keep the insert very simple and, for example, use a piping to contrast the color. Or you can sew the chic ruffle onto the insert as a finish. You can also decorate the insert with piping! The insert is available in round or pointed versions for the women's version, but for the kids we only chose the round insert. You can choose long or 3/4 length sleeves. They are also loose-fitting and are gathered in a little at the hem before the closed cuff is sewn on like a cuff. You can really get creative with this blouse or keep it very simple. Depending on the fabric you choose, you can create a playful blouse (e.g. with floral patterns!) or a "serious" piece (e.g. made of shiny, single-colored viscose!).

Sewing a blouse, as a somewhat experienced seamstress

Difficulty level 2-3 stars! With our step-by-step instructions, you can master any cut. But admittedly - with the SENI blouse, it is advantageous if you have a bit of experience. The round, simple version or with ruffles is the easiest, the piping requires a bit of hard work. The pointed version, especially the one with piping, is a bit trickier, so we give it 3 stars for difficulty.

The name SENI

By the way, SENI is Indonesian and means ART - the perfect name with this great ruffle detail, right?

Fabric recommendation:

The blouse works perfectly in light, soft and airy fabrics - of course cotton or (viscose) linen. But cotton blends or polyester fabrics also work well. Classic blouse fabrics include viscose, silk, satin, batiste or chiffon. Muslin, flannel or scuba are also suitable materials. You may also need some iron-on interfacing and 2 buttons or snap fasteners, as well as piping if desired. Tip: You can also find sewing kits for the SENI blouse pattern in the Nähfrosch shop!

For the SENI blouse you need the following amounts of fabric (based on 150 cm fabric width plus seam allowances and buffer):

Blouse with simple insert:
XS - M = 1.55 m
L - XL = 1.65 m
XXL - XXXL = 2.40 m

Blouse with piping insert:
XS - M = 1.80 m
L - XL = 2.00 m
XXL - XXXL = 2.70 m

For the closure in the middle back you need two small buttons.
You will need decorations such as piping depending on your ideas.
