The e-book contains the pattern (DIN A4 + DIN A0), detailed sewing instructions with many photos and adjustment options as well as practical tips for sewing.
Sewing a blouse shirt with a stand-up collar
The KERAH blouse shirt has a trendy wide cut and ensures elegant lightness. The special feature is the small stand-up collar with a ruffled look. KERAH is tied at the neck - you can easily adjust the collar width with a ribbon. KERAH also has two slits at the back: at the top of the neck and from the lower back to the hem edge. This means the blouse flows loosely, does not constrict and moves with every movement. Small comfortable pads are elegantly concealed and you can of course adjust the length of the blouse individually. The sleeves are gathered at the wrist with an elastic band and thus harmoniously take up the look of the stand-up collar. KERAH can be sewn wonderfully from flowing woven fabric. Viscose woven fabric, crepe or chiffon are ideal here. The blouse can be worn casually with jeans and sneakers or femininely with a pencil skirt and high heels.
Sewing a blouse, even as a somewhat experienced beginner
The KERAH collar blouse is really easy to sew, even for beginners. Maybe not as your very first project, but if you've sat at the sewing machine a few times, you'll definitely manage it. It would then be important to choose a "simple" fabric that doesn't slip too much when you sew, such as muslin or batiste.
The e-book takes you step by step with lots of pictures, making cutting and sewing child's play. The e-book also contains a small basic section in which common terms and sewing vocabulary are briefly explained. Printing and gluing the pattern together is also explained in detail!
The name KERAH
KERAH is Indonesian and means "stand-up collar". The collar is indeed what defines KERAH and what makes the blouse so unique.
Fabric recommendation:
Non-stretchy, flowing fabrics are suitable for your KERAH collar blouse. These include viscose woven fabric, crepe, chiffon, voile, batiste, muslin, satin or silk. The flowing drape is particularly important, otherwise the blouse will have too much bulk.
For the KERAH blouse you need the following amounts of fabric (based on 150 cm fabric width plus seam allowances and buffer):
Sizes XS, S, M - 1.60 m
Size L, XL, XXL - 1.90 m
You also need:
- 60 cm elastic band, 1.5 cm wide (possibly more if you want to sew the hem with an elastic band)
