The e-book contains the pattern (DIN A4 + DIN A0), detailed sewing instructions with many photos and adjustment options as well as practical tips for sewing.

Sewing cozy woven dungarees for babies

It can't get any cuter, can it? An ultra-comfortable pair of dungarees with a cute elephant appliqué or patch pocket for the little ones! This is guaranteed to be your new favorite cut. The simple version in long or short is sewn in no time at all and there is plenty of room for the diaper bottom with this cut. And that's not all. The optional button panel in the crotch and the "growing" leg cuffs are very practical. Alternatively, you can of course also hem the pants. For the straps, you can choose between buttons, snaps, knots or classic buckles. Whatever you like best. This freedom also applies to the choice of fabric. The cut is designed for woven fabrics such as cotton, muslin, linen, corduroy or jeans, and GAGAH also looks good as mud pants made of outdoor fabrics! We hope you enjoy it!

You can sew the comfortable GAGAH dungarees with a straight bib at the front and a narrow bib at the back in different versions. The basic version is the easiest to sew, you can choose between short or long trouser legs, as well as between the long cuffs that grow with the child as the leg ends or you can add a little length and hem the trousers. You can also sew the GAGAH dungarees with a buttoned diaper opening on the legs, which makes changing diapers much easier!

You can also have fun with the straps: snap fasteners, normal buttons with buttonholes, classic dungaree buckles or you can make a buttonhole/eyelet in the bib, pull the strap through and tie a decorative knot.

As a special treat, the GAGAH pattern also includes a template and instructions for a cute elephant appliqué with a wobbly ear! If you prefer a decorative patch pocket, you will also find illustrated instructions included.

The name GAGAH

We just thought the name GAGAH was great. It's Indonesian and means "dashing". So it fits doubly well with this cheeky cut.

Sewing baby pants, even as a beginner

The SERU trousers are a great project for beginners. The details such as the yoke, cuffs and even the seam pockets are absolutely suitable for beginners. We show you exactly how to do it, especially with the step-by-step instructions. So don't hesitate and get to work on the machine. Woven fabric is an additional plus point, by the way. Fabric qualities such as light denim are very easy to sew.

The e-book takes you step by step with lots of pictures, making cutting and sewing child's play. The e-book also contains a small basic section in which common terms and sewing vocabulary are briefly explained. Printing and gluing the pattern together is also explained in detail!

Fabric recommendation:

The GAGAH dungarees are designed for non-stretch woven fabrics. Fabrics such as jeans, corduroy, waffle piquet or summery muslin and linen look great. Simple cotton fabrics such as poplin also work perfectly - and the best thing is that they come in the most beautiful designs. The dungarees are also ideal as mud or rain pants; for this, use outdoor fabrics or PUL suitable for clothing.

Fabric consumption:

For the GAGAH dungarees you need the following amount of fabric for a fabric width of 150 cm (including seam allowance and some buffer):

Size 56 - 68 = 0.60 m
Size 74 - 80 = 0.70 m
Size 86 - 98 = 0.80 m

You also need:

  • If necessary, thin interfacing to reinforce the buttons
  • some cuff fabric for the cuffs
  • Two buttons for the bib, alternatively snap fasteners, buckles
  • If necessary, snap fasteners for the optional changing opening
  • Various fabric scraps and ribbon for the elephant applique
  • If necessary, Vliesofix for the application
